Tips

Cook from frozen, no thawing

Frozen foods are made to cook from frozen, and the air fryer's moving air crisps them better than an oven. Don't thaw breaded items first or they turn soggy. Keep a single layer, shake or flip halfway, and check a couple of minutes early since machines vary.

Do I need to preheat?

Optional. Preheating 2–3 minutes helps crispness; if you skip it, add a minute or two.

Do I need oil?

No for most items. A light spray can boost crispness on plain fries or tots.

Why single layer?

Overcrowding traps steam, so food goes soft instead of crisp. Cook in batches if needed.
